A wish to be me in Greece

When and why did you leave your country?

In 2019, because there were terrorists in my area that threatened to kill my family

Where did you start your journey?

In Syria, Idlib

Which countries did you travel through?

Turkey

Why did you choose this country rather than another country?

Because of its position

What was your principal difficulty once you arrived in the host country?

I had many challenges but mostly communicating with public services they did not know my language and I did not know Greek.

Do you have a job?

No, I cannot find a job that provides a decent wage.

Do you have local friends

Yes! I am active in migrant associations where many Greeks are members and we are very close.

What do you like most in the host country?

The locals are very friendly and willing to help in any way they can.

What do you do in your spare time?

I usually study the Greek language as I would like to practice my profession (pharmacist) one day. Apart from that, I spend time with my wife and my son.

What do you want to do in host city?

Visiting the museums and the archaeological places.

What do you think will help newcomers?

Having a supportive person. I had one but many co-nationals did not have the same opportunity and I know that their life in Greece is more difficult.

What do you miss about your country?

My parents. Unfortunately, they could not afford to follow us.
